According to TVNET, the State Police is seeking to charge three men with robbery in Daugavpils, during which a bag was placed over the victim's head and a handbag was taken from him.
The incident occurred on 27 June in a courtyard in a residential district near a retail shop. The victim is a man born in 1962 — in the handbag that was taken from him, a personal passport, bank card, wristwatch and mobile phone were found.
During the investigation, it was established that three men previously tracked the victim and approached him from behind. One of them forcefully placed a bag over the man's head, whilst another snatched the handbag.
Two suspects were detained on the same day — 27 June. A third person was detained later. All three were subject to a security measure not involving deprivation of liberty.
A criminal case was initiated under Part Two of Article 176 of the Criminal Law — for robbery committed by a group of persons pursuant to prior agreement. In August, the case was referred to the prosecutor's office for the institution of criminal proceedings.
