The District Court in Piaseczno has ordered the detention of journalist Leszek Kraskowski in custody. The decision is in effect for the next three months.

Proceedings against Kraskowski are being conducted by the District Prosecutor's Office in Piaseczno. Investigators have accused him of unlawful possession of Italian-manufactured gas-powered weapons along with 54 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, the man must answer for threats directed at the county police commander in the same city. The charges also include vulgar language directed at that official.

The entire incident took place on 6 June of this year. The suspect allegedly sent the threats electronically.

The prosecutor's office requested the isolation of the suspect due to the risk of obstruction of proceedings, as well as the fact that the man had previously failed to appear in another investigation being conducted against him. This failure to appear led to the suspension of that case.

In the course of the current proceedings, an opinion was sought from a firearms specialist. Prosecutor's office spokesperson Piotr Antoni Skiba informed that owing to the need to maintain impartiality, the case will be transferred to another unit. The reason is that the prosecutor's office works on a daily basis with local police officers, and the commander against whom the threats were made has the status of an injured party.
