A man who sold narcotics to a network of high-status clients was sentenced to five and a half years in prison following an investigation conducted by the PSP. The information was disclosed by Now Canal.
Nuno Santos, in his early thirties, resided in a high-standard residence located in Campolide, an upscale area of the capital. He did not engage in any formally declared professional activity, but maintained a comfortable standard of living: the house was owned outright with no bank debt, and his son attended a private school with monthly fees of approximately 800 euros. The family travelled regularly to the Algarve and to Tróia, where he owned properties, and the defendant was intercepted in possession of a high-end vehicle.
The illicit material traded included cocaine, ketamine, LSD and MDMA. The defendant's mother participated in the business, using her own residence as a point for storage and distribution of the substances.
According to the court, the defendant enjoyed social prestige among his circle of acquaintances, which included well-known figures from television and sport. He participated in select gatherings where he felt recognised and respected — a striking contrast with the turbulent childhood he described, dominated by aggression from his male parent.
During telephone surveillance and police observations, several media personalities came into frequent contact with Santos or were seen at his residence. Among the names mentioned in the case files are actress Marta Gil, actor José Carlos Pereira, former reality show participant Tiago Jaqueta, and Olympic judoka Jorge Fonseca.
The PSP dismantled the scheme and the case proceeded to trial, resulting in the sentence imposed.
