A 29-year-old man has been arrested by the Judicial Police for setting fire to Ameixoeira Metro Station in Lisbon, causing damage to an ATM containing 70,000 euros.

The Lisbon and Vale do Tejo Directorate of the Judicial Police arrested a suspect on Thursday for having set fire to Ameixoeira Metro Station in Lisbon on 1 February, according to Google News PT — Crime (pt).
The fire occurred at 21:40 and is believed to have been caused by direct flame applied to a rucksack and items of clothing. Two separate fires resulted, which caused damage by heat to a waste bin and an ATM cash dispenser — the latter contained 70,000 euros inside.
The arrested suspect, aged 29, will be presented to the Lisbon DIAP for his first judicial interrogation as a detained defendant and application of coercive measures.
