Three young men arrested by PJ for homicide in Cascais and Amadora
The Judicial Police identified and arrested three men aged between 18 and 21 years suspected of homicide offences committed with firearms in Cascais and Amadora.
Chain of armed violence links Carcavelos to Amadora with three suspects arrested
The Judicial Police, through the Directorate of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, arrested three men aged between 18 and 21 years, strongly suspected of committing attempted and completed homicide using firearms. The crimes, which occurred in three distinct but interconnected situations, were committed against people known to the suspects, according to a statement sent to Central Press.
The starting point was on 29 June 2025, at a beachside esplanade in Carcavelos. During a disturbance, one of the suspects fired several times at the crowd, striking two people. Arrested in early July, the man was brought before a judicial interrogation and remanded in custody. In July this year, he was sentenced to three years and six months in prison, with the sentence suspended, for attempted qualified homicide and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The incident in Carcavelos led to two subsequent crimes in the city of Amadora. On 4 April, in retaliation, a witness to the beach incident was struck by a firearm shot to the abdominal region, requiring hospital treatment. The suspect in this attack was arrested on Tuesday, 1 September, being remanded in custody following the first judicial interrogation.
Violence escalated again on 21 May, when a 43-year-old man, the father of that witness, was struck by three firearm shots. He died in a hospital unit as a consequence of the severity of his injuries. The suspect in this homicide was arrested on 25 August 2026, and was likewise remanded in custody.
The three inquiries are being conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Cascais and Amadora DIAP.
