Two women in their 20s are due before the Criminal Courts of Justice after nearly €448,000 worth of drugs were seized in Dublin.

Two women in their 20s have been charged and are due before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin on Saturday afternoon, irishmirror.ie reports, following a major drugs operation that netted almost €448,000 worth of controlled substances.

The seizure was carried out on Friday as part of an intelligence-led operation involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), the Coolock District Drugs Unit, and the Revenue Customs Service. Revenue officers initially seized approximately 5.7kg of herbal cannabis in Dublin, estimated at €79,800.

A follow-up search by gardaí uncovered a further quantity of suspected cocaine, subject to analysis, valued at an estimated €368,000, along with €27,900 in cash and drug paraphernalia. The combined value of controlled drugs seized across the operation totalled €447,800.

Both women were arrested and detained at garda stations in north Dublin under section two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed the charges to the Irish Mirror: "The two women (aged in their 20s) arrested in connection with this investigation have since been charged. They are scheduled to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice (CCJ No. 2) this afternoon, Saturday, 19 September 2026 at approximately 4.30pm. Investigation ongoing."
