A former teacher has been charged with 13 sexual offences against a teenage girl, hellorayo.co.uk reports. Benjamin Pateman, 47, from Bedworth, worked at a school in Coventry at the time of the alleged offences.

Pateman faces two counts of non-penetrative sexual activity with a child, five counts of penetrative sexual activity with a child, and six counts of abuse of position of trust involving sexual activity with a child.

The charges relate to a non-recent report of offences. He has been bailed and is due to appear before magistrates in Leamington on 21 October.
