Two men were arrested during a joint operation targeting suspected illicit tobacco at an off-licence in Shoreham, The Argus reports.

Sussex Police and West Sussex County Council Trading Standards officers searched Wine Me Up on Buckingham Road on 16 September as part of a coordinated investigation into illicit tobacco products.

A Sussex Police spokesman said officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team supported Trading Standards colleagues during the raid and made two arrests in connection with the probe.

Both men have since been bailed pending further enquiries, with the investigation described as ongoing.

Police and Trading Standards thanked members of the public for their support. Anyone with concerns about illicit tobacco or criminal activity at licensed premises is urged to report it to Sussex Police online.
