A 13-year-old boy is fighting for his life after sustaining stab wounds on the seafront in Eastbourne, East Sussex, the Daily Express reports.

Sussex Police were called to Grand Parade, near the junctions of Elms Avenue and Cavendish Place, just after 5 pm on Sunday, 20 September. Emergency crews arrived to find the boy in a serious condition, with injuries consistent with a stabbing. He was subsequently rushed to hospital.

A group of young people were seen leaving the area at the time of the incident, according to officers. Detectives are working to identify and locate the youths who fled the scene.

Sussex Police confirmed that additional officers have been deployed to the area. A force spokesperson said there "will be an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are completed and to provide reassurance" to residents.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant information — including CCTV, mobile phone, or dashcam footage — to come forward. Those with information are asked to contact Sussex Police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1096 of 20/09.
