Three men have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Billy Watson, 35, in Armadale, West Lothian. A third suspect is due at Livingston Sheriff Court on Friday.

News.stv.tv reports that three men have now been charged in connection with the death of Billy Watson, 35, who was shot dead at a property on Harestanes Road, Armadale, on Saturday 12 September at around 11.50am.

Emergency services attended after reports of an injured man at the address. Watson was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination confirmed he sustained fatal injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.

Police had initially announced on Thursday that a 57-year-old man had been charged with murder in connection with his death, which investigators are treating as a targeted killing. On Friday, officers confirmed two further men — aged 29 and 44 — had been arrested. All three are expected to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court.

Detective Superintendent Michelle Findlay said officers continue to support Watson's family throughout the investigation. "They are understandably shocked and devastated by what has happened," she said. "It's imperative to establish why he was killed and get answers for his family and friends."

Police have confirmed enquiries remain ongoing.
