Carrboro police are searching for Keila Quarles, 33, of Carrboro, wanted in connection with an overnight stabbing that left a victim with life-threatening injuries, wral.com reports.
Officers responded after midnight on Friday to a reported assault along N.C. Highway 54 near W. Main Street. A person was found with severe stab wounds and treated at the scene by EMS before being transported to UNC Hospitals, where they are expected to survive.
Police have issued an arrest warrant for Quarles, who they believe fled the scene. She is not yet in custody and faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.
Investigators say Quarles frequents the Carrboro and Chapel Hill areas. Anyone who sees her is asked to call 911 immediately.
The suspect and victim were known to each other, police confirmed. The investigation remains ongoing.
