Chesapeake police are searching for two male suspects following a shooting that left a 17-year-old girl seriously injured, wtkr.com reports.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 23 September, in the 1600 block of Summerall Lane in Chesapeake, Virginia. According to investigators, a dispute broke out outside a housing unit and escalated into gunfire, striking the teenage girl. She was transported to a local hospital and was last reported in serious but stable condition.

Both suspects fled the scene on foot immediately after the shooting. Police have since released surveillance images of one individual, captured by cameras at nearby residences. No additional identifying information about either suspect has been made public.

Following the shooting, a shelter-in-place notification was issued to residents in the surrounding area while officers searched the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing.
