San Francisco police are investigating two incidents — a burglary and a shooting — reported within minutes of each other on Saturday morning, nbcbayarea.com reports.

Officers responded to the 1200 block of 22nd Avenue at around 5:08 a.m. following a burglary. The victim, police said, had fired a gun during the incident. The suspect fled the scene and was not located by responding officers.

Twenty minutes later, at approximately 5:28 a.m., officers were called to the 400 block of 47th Avenue regarding a shooting. A person was found at the scene with an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not confirmed whether the shooting victim is connected to the earlier burglary. The investigation remains active.
