Northgate shooting victim identified: suspect known to victim, gun seized at One15 nightclub

A victim of a shooting in College Station's Northgate district came forward on Sunday after initially not being located at the scene, kbtx.com reports.

The College Station Police Department (CSPD) responded to One15 nightclub on Saturday night following reports of gunshots. Officers were told a person had been shot, but the victim could not be found at the scene, and no matching patient sought treatment at local hospitals or urgent care facilities, CSPD stated on social media.

The following afternoon, dispatch received a call from the victim and witnesses, who reported the victim had been shot in the hand. Investigators met with both the victim and witnesses, who provided accounts detailing events before, during, and after the incident.

CSPD confirmed the victim knew the suspect, 19-year-old Trey Wheeler of Tyler, and had travelled to College Station with him. Wheeler was subsequently arrested in possession of a firearm. A second firearm was also recovered inside the club prior to the shot being fired. Both weapons were seized as evidence.

Police said the investigation remains active and urged anyone with relevant information to contact them directly.
