Fatal Boise House Party Stabbing: Two Teens Arrested, Gang Activity Suspected

Two 18-year-olds are jailed in Ada County after being linked to a fatal stabbing at a Boise house party and a separate shooting incident. Police say gang activity was a factor in both cases.

Two 18-year-olds are behind bars in Ada County, Idaho, following a deadly stabbing at a Boise house party — and police say the pair did not act alone. Law & Crime reports that Isaiah Chavez and Miyah Ford were already in custody on a separate charge when authorities connected them to the death of Casey Rayburn, 20.

Rayburn was stabbed to death in the early hours of Sept. 7, 2026, on the 6000 block of N. Duncan Lane. At approximately 1:30 a.m., Boise Police, Fire, and Ada County Paramedics responded to reports of a stabbing. Officers arrived to find crowds fleeing a large house party and Rayburn on the front porch with stab wounds. He was later identified as the victim.

Chavez and Ford have each been charged with aggravated assault. Boise police say they are two of four suspects linked to Rayburn's death. The additional suspects have been identified as Keigan Blagburn, 22, and Tashaun Maldonado, 18.

Earlier shooting at a separate party

Chavez and Ford were initially arrested in connection with a distinct incident on Aug. 16, 2026. Officers responded to the 2200 block of S. Gekeler Lane following reports of shots fired at a house party. Investigators found physical evidence that shots had been discharged during a fight, with damage to the home's ceiling and roof. Five suspects were arrested in relation to the fight; one was arrested specifically for firing a gun into the ceiling.

It was while the two were already in custody on charges from that August incident that detectives linked them to the fatal September stabbing.

Gang activity cited in both incidents

Boise police stated that "evidence indicates gang activity was a factor in both incidents." Authorities also disclosed that multiple videos of the stabbing incident exist and could provide critical context for the ongoing investigation.

Boise Police Chief Chris Dennison praised the response of his officers in a statement. "I want to recognize the outstanding work of our patrol officers who initially responded, secured the scene, and gathered critical evidence," Dennison said. "That work, combined with the follow-up investigation by our detectives, helped us identify and locate the suspects. This is a great example of the teamwork and professionalism our officers bring to every investigation."

Public asked to submit video evidence

Police issued a warning alongside their call for information: anyone withholding or destroying evidence — including video footage of the crime — may face criminal charges. "Gang violence and related activity will be addressed to the full extent of the law," Dennison added.
