Fourth suspect arrested in Georgetown shooting that injured 19-year-old

Georgetown Police Department has apprehended a fourth suspect in connection with a July shooting that left a 19-year-old injured, abcnews4.com reports.

Dy'Qarius Armstrong was taken into custody Thursday morning at a family member's home in the Choppee community, following months of searching. He faces charges of attempted murder, discharging firearms into a dwelling, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

The incident dates to July 8, when officers responded to a residence on Butts Street at approximately 11 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting victim. On arrival, officers made contact with the victim and his mother.

The victim told police he had been walking along a path between Gilbert Street and Butts Street when he was shot by an unknown individual who had been dropped off in front of the residence. His mother confirmed the account, stating that when her son returned home he had been shot.

The victim was transported to MUSC with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his foot, legs, and shoulder. Through the subsequent investigation, Armstrong was identified as a suspect.

Three other individuals were previously arrested in connection with the same shooting: a 16-year-old juvenile, 19-year-old Qua'lik Ky Leemi Lazaer Flowers, and a third individual who has not been publicly identified.
