Fourth Arrest Made in Georgetown County Shooting Case

A fourth suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a July shooting in Georgetown County, South Carolina, abcnews4.com reports. Dy'Qarius Armstrong was arrested Thursday morning at a family member's home in the Choppee community following months of investigation by the Georgetown Police Department.

Armstrong faces charges of attempted murder, discharging firearms into a dwelling, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

The incident dates to July 8, when officers responded around 11 p.m. to a residence on Butts Street after reports of a gunshot victim. On arrival, they made contact with a 19-year-old and his mother. The victim told officers he had been walking along a path between Gilbert and Butts Street when an unknown individual, dropped off in front of the residence, opened fire. His mother corroborated the account, stating her son came home having been shot.

The victim was transported to MUSC with non-life-threatening wounds to his foot, legs, and shoulder. Through subsequent investigation, Armstrong was identified as a suspect.

Three other individuals were previously arrested in connection with the same shooting: a 16-year-old juvenile, Qua'lik Ky Leemi Lazaer Flowers, 19, and a third individual whose identity has not been disclosed.
