Georgia teen charged with murder of DoorDash driver found dismembered in car trunk

An 18-year-old in Smyrna, Georgia, has been charged with the murder of Shanteria Mosley, whose dismembered remains were found in a car trunk.

Police in Smyrna, Georgia, discovered the dismembered remains of a woman stuffed into garbage bags inside a car trunk at a local apartment complex, nbcnews.com reports. The victim has been identified as Shanteria Mosley, known to family and friends as "KT," who worked as a DoorDash delivery driver.

Investigators said one of the bags "was pulled tightly showing the outline of a body part." Authorities from the Cobb County medical examiner's office were called to the scene before the bags were opened to confirm they contained human remains.

The body was found at Park Valley Apartments during a search prompted by an earlier missing person report filed in the same week.

Kingston Bradley, an 18-year-old resident of the same apartment complex, has since been arrested and charged with concealing the death of another and malice murder in connection with Mosley's death. Police said Bradley lives with his father at Park Valley Apartments.

Lt. Meredith Holt, the public information officer for the Smyrna Police Department, described the case as one of the most disturbing she had encountered in a career spanning 25 years. "This is a shocking crime. I don't know how else to describe it," Holt said at a Friday press conference. "I've been in law enforcement for 25 years, and I have been a part of multiple homicide cases, and I worked crimes against children for 16 years, and this is a particularly gruesome crime."

Holt added: "I cannot imagine what the family is going through."

Investigators have not confirmed whether Bradley and Mosley knew each other before the incident. Holt said authorities are still working to establish how the two were connected, and noted that Mosley was not working as a delivery driver on the day she was killed.

Neither DoorDash nor representatives for Mosley's family had responded to requests for comment at the time of publication.
