Lynchburg Police have charged a local man in connection with a shooting that took place more than eleven years ago, wdbj7.com reports.

Kaleb Braxton, 28, of Lynchburg, has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding and attempted robbery. He is currently being held without bond at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.

On the night of 11 April 2015, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the River Loft Apartments on Jefferson Street. A man was found at the scene with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Initial leads at the time did not produce an arrest, but detectives continued to work the case throughout the years that followed. The arrest was made "as a result of the ongoing investigation and collaboration with the Virginia Department of Forensic Science," according to the department.
