The Madison Police Department arrested a 21-year-old man Thursday in connection with a shooting at a woman's vehicle earlier in the week, wmtv15news.com reports.

Officers responded to the 3700 block of School Road at around 11:05 p.m. Tuesday after a shooting was reported. According to MPD, the suspect — identified as Jayvion Washington — had argued with an 18-year-old woman that day, and the two agreed to meet on Vera Court.

As the woman drove onto the road, Washington opened fire at her vehicle. She was not injured, though the car sustained damage.

MPD officers located Washington on Sherman Avenue at approximately 9:30 a.m. Thursday and booked him into the Dane County Jail. He faces a charge of first-degree attempted homicide.

Police confirmed the two know one another. MPD's Violent Crime Unit is investigating the shooting.
