A man in Wythe County, Virginia has been arrested on child sex crime charges after allegedly soliciting a juvenile online and sending explicit images.

A man has been arrested in Wythe County, Virginia, on child sex crime charges following an investigation into the online solicitation of a minor, wdbj7.com reports.

According to the Wythe County Sheriff's Office, the suspect had been communicating with a juvenile online, was aware of the child's age, and arranged a meeting location in Wythe County with the intent of engaging in sexual activity. He also sent sexually explicit images to the juvenile.

Matthew Aaron Autrey was charged with solicitation with lascivious intent to entice a juvenile, and with knowingly distributing obscene material depicting sexually explicit acts or nudity to a minor.

The Wythe County Sheriff's Office is urging parents and guardians to speak with their children about online safety and the risks of communicating with unknown individuals online.
