The Economic and Corruption Prosecution Authority has brought an additional charge against Austrian entrepreneur René Benko at the Innsbruck regional court. The new charge concerns the offences of fraud and fraudulent insolvency.
The prosecution authority confirmed on Friday the filing of the charge sheet. This has not yet acquired legal force. In parallel, the WKStA stated that there is a further investigative strand in the matter.
Benko, who is known as a real estate investor, must already answer for himself in several proceedings. The allegations include financial irregularities and fraudulent conduct in business transactions.
