Influencer Evelyn Lima murdered in front of her father in Pará, Brazil, one week after being released

Evelyn Lima Dantas, a 21-year-old Brazilian influencer, was killed by gunfire in the early hours of Wednesday, 17 September in the municipality of Mãe do Rio, in the state of Pará. Vanguardia.com reports that the attack occurred just seven days after the young woman regained her provisional liberty in the context of an investigation into a homicide.
According to the Military Police, cited by Brazilian media, two armed men entered the residence located on Bernardo Ferreira de Oliveira Street in the São Francisco neighbourhood. The attackers subdued Evelyn's father and removed the young woman to the outside of the property, where they shot her several times in front of him. The woman died at the scene.
The attack took place around 3:30 in the morning. Neighbours who reported hearing gunshots alerted the authorities, who arrived at the scene and found the young woman's body lying on the street.
Inscription "TCP" on the façade draws investigators' attention
One element that caught investigators' attention was an inscription with the letters "TCP" that the attackers allegedly left on the façade of the residence before fleeing. These letters are associated with Terceiro Comando Puro, a criminal organisation originating in Rio de Janeiro.
The authorities, however, have not confirmed any link between that group and Evelyn's murder. The inscription is part of the investigation as one element among others, without having been established as evidence of authorship.
The Civil Police of Pará took charge of the investigation to identify those responsible and determine the circumstances of the crime.
Free since 9 September after being investigated for another homicide
Evelyn Lima Dantas's recent history adds complexity to the case. On 9 September she had been released on provisional liberty after being investigated for her alleged participation in the murder of retired police sergeant Antônio Anildo Alves, which occurred on 29 July in Mãe do Rio. Evelyn had not been convicted in that case.
The authorities are also analysing whether the crime could be related to that judicial process. Among the hypotheses being considered are a possible reprisal or an attempt to eliminate evidence, although none of those lines has been confirmed as the motive for the homicide.
In addition to that background, the young woman had a previous record for drug trafficking.
More than 24,000 followers on social networks
On her digital platforms, Evelyn Lima Dantas shared photographs and videos about her everyday life: beauty, outings and personal experiences. She had more than 24,000 followers. After her arrest last July, her official profiles were deactivated.
A week after regaining her liberty, she was murdered.
As the investigation advances, the authorities have not publicly established who ordered the attack or what the concrete motive for the murder was.
