Fatal accident in Paris: young man killed on motorcycle during PSG celebrations
A man born in 2002 died after striking concrete blocks on the Paris ring road, following celebrations of PSG's title win. A second young man was seriously wounded in a knife attack in the 16th arrondissement.
Death of motorcyclist and serious assault during PSG celebrations in Paris
A twenty-three-year-old young man died during the night of Saturday to Sunday in Paris after colliding head-on with concrete blocks on his cross-country motorcycle, following festivities related to PSG's victory. DHnet reports that the accident occurred at around 01:10, at the exit ramp of the ring road near the Porte Maillot.
According to the Paris public prosecutor's office, two witnesses present at the scene stated that they saw the driver strike the blocks head-on. These obstacles, approximately one metre in height and clearly marked, had been installed by Paris city council services to close access to the ring road. The death of the individual, born in 2002, was officially confirmed at 02:20. An investigation into the causes of death has been opened.
During the same night, a second serious incident occurred in the 16th arrondissement. Passers-by reported to police an attempted murder: four armed individuals, in particular armed with a knife, allegedly attacked a young man on public roads on suspicion, according to them, of having committed a robbery. Police, alerted at around 04:00, discovered the victim with two wounds to the eye and bleeding heavily from the mouth.
Firefighters attempted to resuscitate him at the scene. The Paris public prosecutor's office states that his vital prognosis is at stake: he fell into a coma before being transported to a Paris hospital. The suspects fled and had not been apprehended at the time of the incident, according to the public ministry.
