Trial in Valence: single knife blow killed young Zakaria
According to ledauphine.com, a single knife blow was enough to cause the death of Zakaria Tabti, a 15-year-old plasterboard apprentice originally from Romans-sur-Isère. The pathologist, giving evidence via videoconference from his office in Grenoble on the third day of hearings, described the wound as "unique" and concluded that it was "beyond all therapeutic resources".
The tragedy occurred on 9 April 2024, when the young man collapsed in the Romans commune. The case is being heard before the Drôme assize court on Wednesday 16 September.
The alleged perpetrator apparently did not specifically target Zakaria: according to evidence presented to the court, "he did not have a specific victim in mind" at the time of the incident.
