Mulhouse: six months' imprisonment for forcing police checkpoint
A motorist forced a police checkpoint in Mulhouse and received six months' imprisonment. His vehicle was also confiscated.
Refusal to stop in Mulhouse: six-month sentence
According to lalsace.fr, the incident occurred on a Thursday evening, shortly after 10 p.m., on Rue Pierre-de-Coubertin in Mulhouse. A patrol from the intervention unit of the local police station intervened after a motorist driving a black Polo refused to stop for a control.
The police officers then decided to position themselves near the roundabout at the Didenheim exit, clearly visible and equipped with torches, to intercept the driver as he passed.
As he approached the checkpoint, the motorist changed lanes and drove onto a verge to bypass the barrage and flee.
Following judicial proceedings, the court sentenced him to six months' imprisonment. His vehicle was also confiscated.
