Authorities are awaiting the results of forensic examinations to shed light on the murders of a mother and son in Longo. The 65-year-old partner of the woman is being held for illegal possession of a weapon.

In the case of the double murder in Longo, Aigialeia, authorities are placing considerable hope in the conclusions that will emerge from the laboratories of ELAS. The evidence collected from the single-family home is expected to shed light on the circumstances in which a 54-year-old woman and her 26-year-old son lost their lives.
According to reporting by Naftemporiki, investigators are examining multiple objects found at the scene. Among them, a sharp object that was found embedded in a flowerpot, a pellet gun that was used to shoot the young man, clothing with stains being investigated to determine if they are blood, as well as fingerprints and biological material.
At the same time, the final autopsy report is awaited, which will determine precisely the time at which the two victims died, as well as the exact circumstances of the crime.
The man who lived with the woman, 65 years old and of Italian nationality, remains in custody at the Aigion Security offices. He maintains that he has no connection to the crime. Officers arrested him on charges of illegal possession of a weapon, after an air rifle was found inside the house.
According to the initial examination by the coroner, the murderer initially attacked the 26-year-old, who was a postgraduate student in Germany. He shot him in the head whilst he was in his bed and subsequently stabbed him repeatedly.
The young man's mother was found dead near the entrance of the house, with injuries indicating that she attempted to defend herself. It is suspected that she became aware of the attack on her child and rushed to help him.
The 65-year-old claims that he realised what had happened around 11:30 in the morning and immediately notified a resident of the area.
