Two foreign nationals were arrested for robbery with particular violence against an elderly woman in Angelokastro, Aetolia-Acarnania, following a police investigation.

Following a coordinated operation in Eleftheroupoli, Kavala and Ano Poli, Thessaloniki, police officers arrested two individuals allegedly involved in a violent robbery against an elderly woman. The operation involved police officers from Messolonghi, Kavala and Pangaio.

The incident occurred on 6 October 2025 in Angelokastro, Aetolia-Acarnania. According to the investigation, the two arrested individuals, together with two other accomplices whose details remain unknown, broke into an elderly woman's home. They were disguised with hoods and gloves.

Inside the house, the perpetrators subjected the woman to extreme violent treatment, hitting her on the head, face and body. Their aim was to obtain information about money and jewellery. The elderly woman was seriously injured. After taking 70 euros and jewellery, they left the scene by car, in which another person was waiting for them.

The preliminary investigation showed that the vehicle they used carried number plates from another car, in an attempt to avoid detection. During searches of the arrested individuals, three mobile phones were found. The car was seized, as was a metal-cutting tool and a motorcycle necklace.

The two accused were taken before the magistrate of the Court of First Instance of Aetolia-Acarnania.
