Nine young people, aged 14 to 19, are in custody for involvement in two criminal gangs that dealt psychotropic substances to minors in the northern suburbs of the capital. The prosecution authorities have identified two additional people who are being sought.
The police operation led to the arrest of seven boys and two girls. Investigators have in their possession recorded conversations that shed light on the structure and operation of the gangs.
In one of the conversations, one of the accused describes his plans to establish ten sales points by June, with a target monthly profit of ten thousand euros. "I will set up ten operations by June to earn ten grand a month," he states characteristically.
The messages include discussions about financial transactions, where one participant asks for one hundred euros for a quantity, while the other replies that he has a profit of forty-five euros. The young people use code words for drugs, and also refer to electronic cigarettes (vape).
In another dialogue, one of the members describes how they transport the substances hidden inside a luxury car. "Bro opens the boot and there are ten bags brother," he says characteristically, describing a transaction that took place inside the vehicle.
The participants refer to specific products with names such as "Cherry" and "Fake Cherry", while one explains that when you break the product in half, crystals come out that "shine".
The gangs' activities were detected in the northern suburbs, where they primarily targeted minor consumers. The authorities are continuing investigations to fully identify those involved.
