A 65-year-old Italian man accused of the murder of two people in Aegio will be brought before the courts on Saturday, 13 June 2026, at 10:00 in the morning. The suspect remains in custody at the local police directorate.

A significant finding is the mobile phone of the 54-year-old. Police officers located it during a search at the crime scene, with the help of the accused himself. The device showed signs of damage. The suspect claims that the woman had destroyed it herself in the days prior.
The prosecuting authorities await the results of laboratory examinations. Specifically, they are examining genetic material that may be present under the fingernails of the 54-year-old, who is said to have struggled with the perpetrator, in contrast to her son who appears to have been asleep at the time of the attack and did not have time to react.
Yesterday, Thursday, a double search was conducted at the house where the crime was committed. The first was carried out in the presence of the accused. The authorities continue their investigations at an intensive pace, examining every piece of evidence. As stated by police spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglídou, results are awaited from forensic examinations as well as from the analysis of the victims' and suspect's clothing.
