Violent attack on 16-year-old at festival in Thessaly
A severe attack on a minor took place during a fair in Farkadona, Trikala. The 16-year-old was violently assaulted by a peer, motivated by the victim's clothing and physical appearance.
According to the victim's mother, who spoke to Newsbeast, the attacker led the 16-year-old away from areas with security cameras. He threatened him with death and then started hitting him. The assailant put the victim in a headlock, carried him across the road and began smashing his head against a parked vehicle. The attack stopped when bystanders at the scene intervened.
The minor was initially taken to the local hospital and subsequently to Larissa. Doctors diagnosed a concussion and head injuries. The child remains in a shocked state, and in the immediate aftermath of the incident experienced memory problems.
The family filed a complaint at the local police station. Their legal adviser emphasised that the complaint contains charges of intimidation with racist characteristics. The prosecuting authorities have ordered a medical examination, whilst findings are awaited regarding the documentation of the physical injuries.
