In the early hours of Sunday (21/6), in the central Ypsila Alonia square in Patras, a group of hooded individuals attacked three young people, causing physical injury to all of them.
According to reports by TA NEA, the assailants are said to have been carrying sticks and pointed objects. Among the victims were two minors, a boy and a girl aged 17, as well as a young man aged 22.
The 22-year-old suffered the most serious injuries from the attack and was transported to hospital. His condition was deemed so concerning that doctors scheduled surgical intervention.
The reasons that led to the violent incident have not been clarified. Police services have launched a manhunt to locate and arrest those responsible.
The incident caused disruption in the local community, as it took place in a central location of the city. The prosecuting authorities are examining every possible scenario, including a connection between the perpetrators and juvenile gangs.
