A fresh search was carried out yesterday at the residence where the double crime was committed in Longos, Aigion, with police officers locating and seizing the mobile phone of the 54-year-old victim. The search was conducted in the presence of the 65-year-old Italian, who is accused of murdering his partner and her 26-year-old son.

The device was found in a damaged state. The suspect's legal representative claimed that the woman herself had caused the damage a few days before the fatal incident. Experts from forensic laboratories are now being called upon to extract any possible data from the device in order to clarify the circumstances and motives of the homicides.

At the same time, laboratory analyses of DNA from biological material collected from the fingernails of the unfortunate mother are underway. The aim is to establish whether there was physical confrontation between her and the man she lived with.

The alleged perpetrator maintains his denial. He claims that the two victims killed one another, disavowing any role. Today he is expected to present his account before the judicial authorities.
