A 65-year-old Italian man has been brought before an investigating magistrate, accused of the murder of his 54-year-old partner and her 26-year-old son at their home in Aigialeia.

On 12 June, a 65-year-old man was brought to the office of the investigating magistrate, accused in connection with the deaths of two people inside their home in the Longos area of Aigialeia, near Aigion. The victims are his 54-year-old partner and her 26-year-old son.
The man himself insists that he has no connection to the events. He claims that at the time he was asleep and noticed nothing. What he asserts is that the two victims killed each other.
The investigations by the prosecution authorities, however, are gathering evidence against him. According to the pathological findings, the young man was first shot at close range in the head with an air gun and was then subjected to numerous stab wounds. The woman had more than twenty knife wounds. Notably, neither of the two victims had defensive wounds.
An important finding is the knife located next to the woman's body. There are no fingerprints on it, a fact that leads investigators to the conclusion that it was wiped clean. They believe the same occurred with other objects, as traces were found indicating that clothing with blood traces had been washed.
There are no signs of forced entry to the house, and from the visual material that was examined no suspicious movement outside the house emerges. This reinforces the assessment that the killer was someone who was already inside the space.
According to reports, a possible motive is the 65-year-old's serious disagreement with the young man's decision to move his mother to Germany for treatment.
His legal representatives are expected to request an extension so they can examine the case file and prepare his defence.
