A 65-year-old Italian has been arrested for the murder of his 54-year-old partner and her 26-year-old son in Longos, Achaia. The victims were found dead in their home with injuries from knife and gunshot wounds.

Prosecuting authorities have proceeded with the arrest of a 65-year-old man from Italy, who is accused of the death of a 54-year-old Greek woman and her 26-year-old son. The bodies of the two victims were found inside their residence in the Longos area, near Aigion.
Police were notified on Tuesday afternoon. From the examination conducted at the scene, it emerged that the mother had multiple injuries from a sharp object, while the young man had been struck in the head by a bullet from a hunting rifle.
During the search of the house, investigators found a large kitchen knife with a blade of twenty centimetres and a hunting rifle with one spent cartridge. Police officers also made use of material from a security camera of a neighbouring property, which helped in identifying the suspect.
Authorities believe that the arrested man, who was in a relationship with the woman, first attacked his partner with the knife and then shot her son. The accused is to be presented before the Aigion District Prosecutor.
