Double homicide in Aigio: Hidden entrance in adjacent building under investigation
The investigation into the murder of a mother and son in Aigio is taking a new turn, as prosecuting authorities focus their attention on an adjacent building. The bodies of the 54-year-old woman and her 25-year-old son were found in their residence.
Police officers discovered a neglected entrance in an old bakery adjoining the house where the double crime took place. The property belongs to the father of the victim's brother and is used as a residence. Investigators do not rule out the possibility that someone used the space to conceal or destroy evidence.
Police spokesperson Konstantina Dimoglídou stated that results are awaited from laboratory analyses of samples collected anew from inside the home. "There are indications that someone attempted to alter the scene inside the house," she said characteristically. She added that various objects have come into the possession of the authorities, although examinations have not yet been completed.
She clarified that the involvement of an additional person in the crime is ruled out. Meanwhile, the case is developing as a police thriller, with every possibility being examined in detail by investigators.
