A group of nine youths attacked other young people in a park in Paianía, injuring an 18-year-old with a club and stealing shoes from a 16-year-old couple.
Nine young men arrested for assault and robbery in Paianía park
Police officers from the Immediate Action unit arrested nine individuals, aged between 17 and 20 years, in the Paianía area. The arrested persons are alleged to have attacked other youths in a green space in the area.
According to the investigation, the group approached a gathering of young people. Without apparent reason, they struck an 18-year-old in the head with a wooden object. Shortly afterwards, using physical force, they removed shoes from a couple of 16-year-olds and fled.
Prosecutors located the suspects a short time later inside a vehicle. The vehicle was seized as evidence, and the object used as a weapon was also found.
The charges include serious bodily harm, aggravated robbery and illegal possession of weapons. The nine individuals were brought before the courts.
