A forty-year-old man was subjected to a violent assault in Nikaia when two teenagers surrounded him at a public transport stop and threatened him with blades in order to steal money and personal possessions.

The incident took place on Petrou Ralli Street, where the victim was waiting for his bus to go to work. Suddenly, the two youths approached him and aggressively demanded his bag. The victim initially attempted to resist, but one of the perpetrators brought the knife close to his body, forcing him to comply.

The two fled the scene with the backpack, which contained one thousand euros in cash and various personal items. The forty-year-old immediately reported the incident to the prosecuting authorities, providing detailed information about their physical appearance and the clothes they were wearing.

Police in the area quickly located the first of the two perpetrators. He is a seventeen-year-old, on whom a small quantity of psychotropic substances was found. At the minor's home, searches revealed a folding baton and lock-breaking tools.

The authorities have already identified the identity of his accomplice and are searching for the second perpetrator in order to proceed with his arrest. Incidents of violent theft in Nikaia have multiplied in recent times, creating a sense of insecurity among residents.
