Attack on young woman in central Athens
An unknown man attacked a 22-year-old woman in the Lycabettus area. The victim managed to escape thanks to the intervention of a citizen, while the perpetrator remains at large.
Attack on young woman in central Athens
A 22-year-old woman experienced terrifying moments in the centre of the capital when a man of unknown identity pursued and attacked her on Lycabettus. The incident occurred after the perpetrator had followed her for an extended period.
According to reports, the man approached her abruptly, embraced her and attempted to immobilise her. The young woman resisted and escaped from her attacker. As she tried to get away, she fell and suffered minor injuries, but continued to run to flee.
The perpetrator then pursued her to Sarandipi Street. There, a passer-by noticed what was happening, intervened and chased the man, who ultimately escaped towards Exarchia. The authorities are conducting an investigation to locate and arrest him.
The 22-year-old is not in danger, however she remains in a state of shock. The case is being handled by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Department of Exarchia.
