Three men, aged 28, 25 and 20, were taken into police custody in early June 19th, accused of participating in an organisation that was trading in illegal substances in the capital region.

The operation was conducted by officers of ELAS following a multi-day investigation into the activities of the specific group. The officers identified three locations — in Nea Philadelpheia and in Agioi Anargyroi — that were being used as storage and distribution points.

In audiovisual material released to the public by ELAS, the moment when police officers raided the buildings can be seen.

From the searches, a total of the following items were seized: - 798 grammes of cannabis in raw form - 720 grammes of processed cannabis - 226 grammes of heroin - two digital precision scales - materials for packaging the products - two folding knives - one wooden baton - 835 euros in cash

According to information that became known, the arrested individuals had previously engaged the prosecuting authorities' attention for similar offences. This fact is being investigated by the investigating officers handling the case.

The three men were brought before the Prosecutor, whilst investigations continue with the aim of locating possible associates of theirs.
