New information about the femicide in Drama has been made public by Newsbeast: the 50-year-old police officer who killed his partner shot himself with his service weapon whilst his vehicle was moving.

Police analyst Stavros Balaskas relayed the information during Mega's Live News broadcast, citing police sources. "There is information that when he shot himself, the car was moving. His team found him, his own people," he stated characteristically.

DIAS unit commander

The perpetrator was commander of a DIAS unit in Drama. Immediately after the crime, his team received a signal to search for their superior. They found him dead inside his vehicle.

Forensic pathologist's findings

According to the results of the forensic examination, the body of the 45-year-old victim bore seven knife wounds. The wounds were found mainly in the area of the back and the sides. One of them caused serious damage to the heart and constituted the fatal blow.
