The conclusions of the autopsy on the 39-year-old woman from Kalamata, who lost her life at the hands of her 41-year-old partner in her family home, are shocking. According to the findings from the forensic examination, the victim had 45 wounds caused by a sharp object.
Multiple defensive abrasions were found on the woman's extremities, a fact suggesting she attempted to protect herself from the barrage of blows. The blows that proved fatal were located in her thoracic region — two in total — whilst another was found on her back. Further wounds were recorded in the neck and jaw area.
At the same time, the competent security authority issued a statement in which it categorically rejects the claims circulated in the press, according to which reports of violent behaviour within the family against the unfortunate mother had been submitted in the past.
"The claims in question are not supported by records from our services," the relevant statement notes. As it is clarified, during the November 2025 incident which was referenced in publications, no written or verbal complaint was filed regarding an instance of domestic violence, nor for assault or abuse of the woman. The call received by the operations centre came from third parties who expressed concern because the 39-year-old had not shown up to a scheduled meeting and was not responding to their telephone calls.
The police officers who rushed to the scene found that the woman was in good condition. During their conversation with her, she made no reference to any incident of violent behaviour, threat or need for protective intervention, nor did any sign emerge that would justify further investigation. Prescribed procedures were followed normally.
Finally, the security authority emphasises that its records contain no previous complaint regarding an instance of domestic violence between the persons involved.
