A citizen discovered a weapon on the seabed in an area near the jetty 'ICHTHYOSKALA' in Kavala. The Port Authority was notified and is conducting a preliminary investigation.
Kavala: Citizen finds weapon on seabed at 'Ichthyoskala'
A weapon was discovered yesterday afternoon on the seabed at a rocky point in the sea area near the jetty 'ICHTHYOSKALA' in Kavala, by a passing citizen.
The man immediately notified the Port Authority of the city, which mobilised promptly. A private diver travelled to the location to examine the wider area in order to determine whether there were any additional finds.
A preliminary investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Central Port Authority of Kavala. The weapon was collected and sent for further examination, whilst searches are continuing to identify its origin and any possible connections to other cases.
