Police arrested a young man in Rhodes who is accused of ten burglaries at shops. Stolen items, electric scooters and clothing that he wore during the thefts were found.
Arrest of 19-year-old in Rhodes for series of shop burglaries
Police officers from the Crime Investigation and Detection Directorate of Rhodes proceeded to arrest a 19-year-old, whom they suspect of involvement in multiple illegal entries into shops on the island.
The investigation began following information that was assessed and led to the identification of the suspect. When police officers conducted a raid on his home, they discovered items that corresponded to stolen merchandise. Among them were two electric scooters that had been stolen from shops, as well as clothing that he wore while committing the offences.
From the findings of the investigation, it emerged that the young man may be involved in ten incidents of unlawful entry, of which six were completed whilst four were prevented. Cash, tools and various items were removed from the businesses.
The authorities are investigating whether the arrested individual had a role in other similar cases. He was brought before the District Prosecutor of Rhodes.
