Moroccan security services conducted an operation in the cities of Marrakech and Tangier, during which they arrested eleven people wanted in European countries. The group is suspected of drug trafficking and money laundering. Among those arrested are six people of Moroccan origin who have been living in France for a long time, three residing in Belgium and one in the Netherlands. All are wanted for drug trafficking. The eleventh person arrested is a French citizen suspected in his country of money laundering. With the exception of one, all detainees were wanted by the international police organisation Interpol.
During the operation, police seized several luxury vehicles and motorcycles, cash, bank cards and an unspecified quantity of cocaine. The identities of those arrested have not been made public by the authorities; all will remain in detention during the investigation.
