Morocco: 16 suspects wanted by France arrested in anti-gang operation
Moroccan authorities have arrested 16 individuals involved in serious crimes, including drug trafficking and murders. Paris has launched extradition requests.
Sixteen arrests in Morocco within framework of Franco-Moroccan judicial cooperation
According to Google News MA, French Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin announced on social network X the arrest in Morocco of 16 individuals sought by France for serious criminal offences, among which organised drug trafficking, murders, fraud and money laundering.
In his message, Darmanin thanked Moroccan security forces for their intervention within the framework of this joint operation. He specified that extradition requests have been submitted for the French nationals concerned.
For dual nationals, who cannot legally be extradited, formal notifications have been transmitted to Moroccan authorities so that they may be prosecuted and tried on Moroccan soil.
The minister emphasised the importance of this bilateral judicial cooperation in combating organised crime, describing it as a contribution to the security of both countries.
