At the end of May, Andrew Tate had already been summoned to DIICOT, on which occasion he learned that he was being investigated criminally for a new offence: incitement to hatred or discrimination. The charge concerns speeches promoted on social media through which he allegedly incited the public to hatred and discrimination against women, according to Agerpres.
Andrew and Tristan Tate, citizens with dual British and American nationality, were initially sent to trial by DIICOT on 20 June 2023. The charges include forming an organised criminal group, human trafficking, rape, unlawful access to a computer system and assault or other acts of violence.
In December 2024, the courts annulled the indictment formulated by prosecutors, returning the case to DIICOT for the reopening of the criminal investigation. Currently, prosecutors are working on reconstructing the documents in the case.
Andrew Tate, born in the United States and settled in Romania for several years, is an influencer with millions of followers on platform X, where he promotes his own concept of "masculinity".
