Driver without licence arrested after driving drunk with 2.21 g/l alcohol in Dolj
A 50-year-old man from Ciupercenii Noi was remanded in custody for 30 days after he was found driving an unregistered car without a licence and with a blood alcohol level of 2.21 g/l.

A 50-year-old man from the commune of Ciupercenii Noi, Dolj county, was remanded in custody for 30 days after police officers discovered him at the wheel of an unregistered car, without a driving licence for any category of vehicle and with a blood alcohol level of 2.21 g/l, according to News.ro.
According to the Dolj County Police Inspectorate, the man was stopped on Wednesday on DJ 553, in Ciupercenii Noi commune. During a routine check, officers established that the vehicle was not registered and that the driver did not possess a driving licence.
Because he was emitting an odour of alcohol, the man was tested with a breathalyser, which indicated a concentration of 1.00 mg/l of pure alcohol in exhaled air, police officers specified. After being taken to hospital for the collection of biological samples, the analysis confirmed a blood alcohol level of 2.21 g/l.
The man was detained for 24 hours, and upon his presentation before Calafat Court, the court ordered his remand in custody for 30 days. He is being investigated for driving under the influence of alcohol in an unregistered vehicle and without possessing a driving licence.
