Two Hunedoara residents detained for selling psychoactive substances
Investigators from DIICOT – Hunedoara Territorial Office, supported by police specialising in combating organised crime, have ended the illicit activities of a couple suspected of distributing synthetic drugs. The woman and her partner are accused of carrying out unauthorised operations with products capable of altering states of consciousness.
Investigators claim that during May 2026, the two allegedly purchased and subsequently resold quantities of plant material treated with chemical compounds such as MDMB BUTINACA and 5Fluoro-ADB. Customers paid between 150 and 300 lei for these packages.
On 9 June 2026, law enforcement descended on two residences. Bags and jars containing plant matter and crystals, hand-rolled tobacco filters, a gram scale and objects contaminated with traces of banned substances were seized. These will be used as evidence in court.
On the same day, prosecutors decided to deprive the two accused of their liberty. The following day, the magistrate at Hunedoara Court validated the Public Prosecutor's request: the man was sent to prison, whilst the woman escaped detention and was ordered to comply with a judicial control measure for a period of two months.
Officers from Hunedoara County Gendarmerie Inspectorate also participated in the operation.
