Aberdeen man charged with attempted murder after BMW strikes teenage cyclist

A 37-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a white BMW struck a 19-year-old cyclist on Rousay Drive, Aberdeen. He is due in court on Monday.

A 37-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a road incident on Rousay Drive, Aberdeen, last Friday evening, bbc.com reports.

Police received a call at around 6pm after a white BMW struck a cyclist. The victim, a 19-year-old man, subsequently attended hospital for treatment. Officers closed the road for a period to allow inquiries to be carried out.

The suspect is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday 28 September.

Sergeant Scott Cooper appealed for witnesses: "We are continuing to carry out enquiries following this incident and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area around this time to contact us with any information."

Cooper added that anyone with dash-cam footage is also asked to come forward, as it may assist the investigation.
